Gleanings from Ephesus

February 14, 2021 Pastor: Ray Cureton Series: Ephesians: God's Glorious Purpose for the Church

This morning’s sermon, while differing in style from our usual expository approach, is no less Word centered in its content.  The delivery style, however, may be a little different than what you are used to.  It is a First Person Narrative Sermon on portions of the Book of Ephesians.

“A First Person Narrative Sermon communicates the idea of a biblical passage through a character with personal knowledge of the events of the passage.  Preachers take on the personality of this character and re-experience the events of the biblical text in order to communicate what the original author communicated to the first recipients of the biblical narrative.” (J. Kent Edwards, Effective First-Person Biblical Preaching, Zondervan, 2005)

The character I am taking on for this message is named Tychicus (no I will not be in period costume), and he will share portions of the Book of Ephesians with you.  It is my prayer that God will use this presentation to touch your life, to challenge you, convict you, and encourage you in your walk with our Lord, and in your battle with the world, the flesh, and the devil!
