As of February 2025, Grace Presbyterian Church has a New Ministry Partner!!
Hope Inspired Ministries
This new ministry falls under our Community Outreach area of Evangelism.
As you will see Hope Inspired Ministries (HIM) does great work for God’s kingdom, in Montgomery’s economically challenged community; by training its students to get a job and keep a job.
Some of Grace’s members personally have been working with this ministry, as volunteers, since 2020 They have seen, first hand, the life changing difference in students’ lives who follow the HIM curriculum and take necessary steps to change their life course.
Hope Inspired Ministries (HIM) was founded in Montgomery in January of 2012, to serve unemployed individuals by preparing and equipping them to obtain, maintain, and excel at employment. Results from the original program demonstrated that even the most marginalized men and women of a community can become self-supporting, productive citizens. HIM then replicated the original Montgomery model in Birmingham in 2017, and in Lowndes County in 2020 to make three community sites. Since then, Hope has partnered with several additional locations to meet students ‘where they are’ to assist them in making better life decisions in the future. Those include two public high schools, teaching the HIM curriculum to all seniors in each school and the Department of Youth Services at Mt. Meigs. Today, these campuses are multiplying the life change transformations of the original campus.

HIM developed a curriculum that incorporates the structure and accountability of a workplace, and also wrapped it with empathy and compassion, based on Biblical principles, to equip individuals to escape the hopelessness and despair found in a lifetime of poverty.
HIM helps students unpack a lifetime of negative thoughts and behaviors to rebuild and transform into confident adults with the feelings of self-worth they need to set and accomplish goals they never dreamed they could achieve. Graduates leave the program feeling more confident of their ability to shape not only their own lives, but also to participate in the communities where they live.

Due to strict structure and accountability, 45-50% of the students who enroll completethe course. However, 85-90% of HIM graduates find employment.
Grace chose to partner with Hope Inspired Ministries for a couple of reasons:
1. Using the Biblical principles, Hope Inspired Ministries is doing exceptional work in Montgomery, addressing homelessness & despair.
2. In addition to Grace financially supporting HIM, this ministry affords our congregation multiple opportunities to actively get involved as a partner.
Here are just a few:
Prayer Warrior: Prayer is powerful. Warriors commit to pray for the students & staff daily. (remotely)
Devotion Leader: Each class starts with a short devotion. HIM can provide or you could do your own.
Guest Speaker: Speakers share about 45 min. on their passion. (ex: Ambassador’s Mission Trip).
Lunch Provider: Lunch is provided daily to the students, many of which are nutritionally marginalized.
Mentor: Five 1 hour lunch sessions, building up and pouring into a student’s life. (very rewarding)
Mock Interviewer: Each week the students practice interviewing for jobs…. You help.
Our members have personally been encouraged by this ministry. Seeing men and women change the course of their lives, by following the class curriculum and biblical structure of HIM.
We, at Grace, thank God for the opportunity to work with Biblical based ministries in the Montgomery area.
