Pastor Scott grew up outside of Albany, New York. Now he'll be the first to let you know his small town of Schenectady isn't the "New York" most people think of. Its a quiet, conservative town that may be best known for its zip code, 12345. He grew up in a Christian home and in a historic church. It was a great place to grow up with a strong sense of community.

Scott and Rachel met in college where they both attended Lee University outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. After College and marriage they moved to St. Louis where Scott attended Covenant Seminary and received his Master in Divinity degree. They continued to work in St. Louis at a local (EPC) church for 9 years. It was there that the Lord brought them their first child. Soon thereafter he accepted another call in Pompano Beach, Florida as an assistant pastor of family life.

In early 2007 Scott sensed a call to become a Senior Pastor where he felt he could better use the gifts the Lord had given him. In June 2007 Scott accepted the invitation from Grace @ Bell Road to come and lead their congregation.  Scott and Rachel have fallen in love with the Montgomery area: "We love Montgomery and truly believe that it is a great area to raise a family and give to the community inside and outside the walls of the church."

The Lawrys moved here with their 2 girls and were blessed to have their first son, born in December 2008 - one of the bunch is a native Montgomerian. But they are all Montgomerians in heart.  They expect another Montgomerian this summer (boy #2!).
